***Editing a few days later to add more context aftwe reading more of the recent reviewsI think the biggest problem with this coat is either a design or manufacturing flaw. I’ve noticed some reviews saying the coat is very tight in the arms and that’s almost it- the problem is really that proportionally, the coat doesn’t have enough material in the upper back/ behind the arms. After the seam ripped, I used an older north face parka I have, size small- it’s overall too small for me right now- I can zip it up and all but it’s overall snugger than I’d want in a winter coat. But even that coat is still very comfortable for me in the shoulders-upper back and allows a complete range of motion of my arms and ability to reach without any strain on the seams. By comparison, I bought this coat in a medium and it really doesn’t allow for that- it is proportionally very tight across the back/upper arms, even though it’s roomier in the rest of the cost than my small north faceOriginal -overall pleased with this coat- it isn’t absolutely perfect, but it is well designed, with seemingly quality, sturdy materials, and warm enough for most of the midwest winter. I like that the hood in particular has useful adjustments- finding a vegan cost with a great hood has oddly been challenging.The misses:- as other reviews note, it’s odd that the zipper stops where it does. That could have been a design choice to allow better movement- not sure.- the main pockets are just not as deep as they should be, and placed a little too high. I don’t terribly mind that they are top vs side opening, though side would be better for my hands. But since they hit me right at the hip and are somewhat shallow, it’s not a great place for a larger phone, and it’s definitely hard to fit anything in addition to a phone like gloves, keys, etc- sizing seems hard to gauge. I would probably size up (or at least not size down) if you’re busty at all. I’m not surprised to see the reviews commenting both that it’s bigger and smaller than expected- I know the vendor says it’s roomy which probably influences size selection, and women’s sizing generally is so ridiculously inconsistent.- stitching could be better. The stitching attaching the arm to the body of the coat just snapped on me when I was reaching for something and viewing the stitching, it seems a little flimsy as compared to the construction of the rest of the coat. I could feel one stitch pop and the rest are now unraveling. I guess that in part means I should have sized up, but I’ve been wearing this coat for a few months now with no issue doing the same things. Just something to be mindful of- I haven’t had to really put it to the test in the brutal cold, but I suspect it wouldn’t ward off the subzero m temperatures. But I’ve been comfortable in it down to maybe 10 degrees FEven with those downsides, I would still purchase this coat again.

Ordered this for the current “Arctic blast” in the Northeast and got it just In time. Put it on and Wow! I have bought a lot of jackets by Cole Hahn, Helly Hanson, Andrew Marc, Northface and Marmot. THIS coat beats them all! Hands down. I ordered a small and it fit just right. If you want to layer maybe get one size up from what they recommend. I am size 6 or small usually and got a small. It is perfect without layers and is warm enough in this arctic air tonight. The fabric and warmth are amazing! The hood is lined with fleece and I didn’t have a problem with the fit as others mentioned for the hood it was just right and stayed on with the wind. There are snaps on the hood to keep the fur higher or lower which is nice. Snapped back or unsnapped. The coat has snaps also and a zipper. The pockets are perfect and also have snaps. The sleeves have the cuffs and hand thumb holes so if you don’t hVe gloves it helps. The coat is windproof and waterproof. It zips all the way up so it kept my face warm and protected without a scarf and hat. I only had one layer and it was three degrees with sun zero wind chills tonight in the northeast. It performed beyond my hopes! I don’t like down coats or fur and find this coat warmer and better made than the brands i mentioned above. I was skeptical of trying it because of not knowing the brand and for the price, but I am so glad I did and that it came on time for the Arctic blast here. I don’t know why people gave it any negative reviews for the hood or lack of a waste etc. it is the best coat I have ever purchased for winter in a store or online. I hope they make it forever! Honestly, JUST GET ONE! You won’t regret it! I can’t say enough good things about this coat by Alpime North! Except thank you for making it!

I bought this coat for my upcoming Alaska trip. I live in Florida so I didn't want to invest a lot of money on a coat I may not wear again. I love North Face but I have to say this coat was a great dupe at a great price point. It has a thick and luxurious feel about it. I love all the pockets, you can cinch at the waist so it won't look boxy and the length is perfect, hits me right past my knee.

First of all, just want to say it's amazing to find a company dedicated to using recycled materials and most importantly, being cruelty free, while also producing gorgeous quality jackets that can actually withstand the cold. I absolutely love the parka I bought. The fit and length are really nice and the reflective trims are such a good feature, and it really does keep me warm in the snowy winter weather 💙.So, I bought 3 colours to compare and let me say the cobalt and grape are just beautiful and made my ultimate decision very difficult. However, the black colour for some reason felt a good half size bigger. Even when I tightened the inner cord, it felt like I was wearing closer to a medium size than a small. Also the faux fur trim on the hood wasn't as nice as the other jackets. But maybe I just got unlucky.Overall, I would absolutely recommend these jackets and would buy from this company again in the future : )

I am so glad I decided to buy this coat this fall. The colour is a beautiful navy blue, with a plush fully lined hood. Around the hood is a lush silvery blue faux fur trim, which looks great with my grey hair. The recessed, knitted wrist cuffs are a perfect length without being constricting, I could tuck my gloves inside the cuffs and/or over lap the gloves over the cuffs, so there were no gaps for the wind to get in. The length is generous and keeps my legs, including my knees warm. The bottom pockets are easily accessible, while the upper chest pockets are fairly deep with the added security of a closing snap each. The coat is truly a great Canadian winter coat, it keeps me super warm via the coverage of it's design, through it's insulating properties, along with, providing room for layers (sweaters or jackets), while offering all the style I want in an overcoat. All of the stitching is solid, including around the zipper and the snaps are all well anchored, thank you providing the product at such a reasonable price.

I've never come across a jacket at this price point that has such amazing quality, from stitching, to reinforcement along the sleeve cuffs, to durable material, this jacket has it all. The main downside is that this won't keep you warm in sub -20 degrees, and that's because there is less of the synthetic down filling at the bottom half of the jacket. Its weird because the jacket carries most of its weight in the top half. For that reason I sadly returned it. If they increased the amount of down in it, this jacket would rival those in the $500 plus range and I would definitely buy it again.

I’ve never felt cold a day in this jacket! Only had it in -10 weather and still warm with just 1 regular sweatshirt underneath. The hood works wonders for the wind. I love the length, the colour, the 2 pockets on the left inside for my phone and other important stuff so it stays safe and warm. I will say tho, I do wish I could’ve removed the hood for warmer days because I love the jacket and it’s style so much! Also, the fur does get caught in my lip balm sometimes and it’s a mess. I also wished the pockets were diagonal and not horizontal, it’s a tiny bit awkward having my hands in my pocket sometimes. It was a bit heavy at first but I’ve gotten so used to it, it feels light weight now.

This coat was incredible quality. I was pleasantly surprised! Very warm and beautiful colour. The hood is so flattering!! I ended up sending it back because it was a little shapeless from the back. No waistline and it wasn’t looking so great - however that’s probably the style and I just wasn’t a fan.
