Marantz SR5009 7.2 Network AV Receiver (Renewed)

Amazing sound and love the ease of use and integrated app!

i was led to believe this was a linear amplifier, I was surprised to find it was a switching amp which would not drive my Polk Audio Speakers. The Surround options were minimul and for future reference when reading the specs always look at the weight. That will lie you know if it is heavy enough to be a linear driven unit. Needless to say I returned the unit and went with Onkyo

Received this today and satisfied so far. The initial setup is a bit strange. You connect you IOS device and then the receiver try's to get online.... Obviously that doesn't work, so went back to input my network settings. Once online it moved right along. Sound quality is clean and solid. The app is nice, however, a little old looking and a bit sluggish. I am used to Bose Soundtouch - I have multiple units including the new LS535iii so maybe I'm a it spoiled. I needed this into to run my outdoor theater by the pool and bose doesn't have a solution for that. I did connect to a pair of 251's.

It was nice until, the wireless stopped working. It worked for a week and then stopped. I have even reset the receiver twice and still no luck. I would like to get it replaced.

All I can say after using this receiver for 1 yr. Stay away from this model! Many bug issues! No firmware updates to fix streaming issues. Very poor quality from Marantz . What a disappointment!
