Constructed from 130g Primaloft Gold insulation, a waterproof insert, and our new DWR coated softshell outer, this Pearl Izumi classic utilizes a lobster claw design to keep hands and fingers warmer than a traditional full finger glove without compromising dexterity. Fleece lining is soft on the skin, and reflective elements increase visibility during lowlight rides.

very good down to at least 28F
First I have two disclaimers. It doesn't get that cold here (recent weather has gone down to 28F) and I usually don't feel cold. But given this, I really like these gloves and I thought I would write up my experiences. So recently we have been having some relative cold (this has happened before and I tried many different gloves). While I usually withstand cold well, going on a two hour ride in 28-32F weather has recently been unpleasant. I have come home with fingers that hurt and lack dexterity for 15 to 30 minutes. I went to the bike shop and got some regular (fingered) gloves and the problem remained. So on the advice of a friend (suggested mittens) I tried these. They have performed very well at these temperatures (I don't have any experience telling me how much colder they will go). At the end of a ride, my fingers are cold, but they have full dexterity (I type my strava blog right away) and they do not hurt as I warm them.I do believe that i t is possible to sweat in these gloves even when it is relatively cold outside. What does not seem to happen is what I call refrigerator gloves (which happens with every other glove that I have tried). What this means is that at some point (because the hand sweats?) many types of gloves start to hold the cold in. I realized that I really had a problem once when I took some gloves off and realized that my hands were warmer with those gloves off. So much of what I really like about these gloves is that they don't do this. I think that this might have to do with the type of material inside the glove which is a bit more absorbent.

Warm & comfortable for mountain biking
My hands stay warm and dry during single track trail mountain bike rides. My rides have been in mid 20F ambient temperatures with wetish conditions such as snow and fog. The fit is very good and they do not much inhibit operation of the handlebar controls (brakes, shifter, dropper post, etc...) They breath reasonable well. They do not have pads on the palm. The fit is tight when I wear padded bicycle gloves plus a thin base layer fingered glove underneath. Order one size larger if you intend to do so. I intend to use these for cross country skiing with a base layer fingered glove but without padded gloves so the tight fit with padded gloves while riding is an acceptable compromise for me. The gloves appear well made and durable but I have only accumulated roughly 8 hours of riding with them so far.

Good stuff.
Well, just got them. Didn't use them yet. Will update after I do.Been riding mtn bike under 30 years and am experienced with winter riding. These gloves r Definetly gonna b really warm. Was out on a 4 hour 28 mile ride in 33°s with my lite winter riding gloves. Which have fingers and r polartec PowerShield. NOT a glove within a glove. These r a glove within a glove. As in liner sewn into a shell. Like a ski glove. I can see these being useful from upper 20°s F on down. The mitten lobster design will greatly increase warmth. Provided the shell is adequate. Which it will be since they r made by a Pearl for biking. Odds r I can wear these skiing no problem. Is really lobsterey. They should sell them in lobster red-orange. Haha

The warmest gloves I've found yet.
These are performing admirably. Context: Male, 30s, commute by bike is 4 miles in NYC, avg speed is around 15/16mph.First Warmth: I've tried a variety of other gloves and these have been the warmest and best protection so far. Everyone seems to be a bit different but I found that I couldn't rely on exclusively just a fleece glove once temperatures got under freezing (0C, 32F). Above that I found these to be too warm and a bit sweaty. Under freezing these do well. I get a little numbness but nothing compared to some other products I have tried Craft Shield Warm/Wind/Waterproof Glove, Flumino/Black, Medium . With a liner I biked today in 25F / -4C with a 20mph wind, and did get numbness but my feet ended up suffering more than my hands, so success. I may consider looking for another liner or layer for my fingers to help when it starts getting even colder.Fit: I am very very impressed with the fit. I'm a size medium typically and that size worked fine for me here. I have a lot of other Pearl Izumi products and typically fall into the M category. The fit feels very natural on the bike, and makes it very easy to use the brake shift levers. However if you are really into grip these don't have the best grip out there. It is secure enough for me, but if you are concerned about slippage you may want to consider something else. Also worth mentioning even though it is a lobster glove I don't feel like it is a bulky glove at all, and very easy to 'touch' the brakes.Overall I'm really happy with these gloves the form factor and fit are fantastic, the warmth is very good, but for the price I was hoping for a product that was going to be my savior in all extreme cold weather biking. All products have their limits and unfortunately I was hoping I could push these gloves to even further cold temperature. But these I don't think will work well for 20min commutes when the temperature drops under -5C or 23F.

Warm enough for most winter days in Chicago
These are great! They keep my fingers warm almost any day I'd try to ride. I pair them with a silk liner just to not feel as sweaty. They aren't able to keep my fingers warm if it gets closer to 0° F, but if it's cold enough that my fingers are uncomfortable, I probably won't be riding as my feet would be too cold.If you need to ride in really cold temperatures, closer to 0° F, I've heard bar mitts are the way to go. For anything around 15-20° F or warmer, these do the trick for me.I have drop handlebars and I can easily reach the brakes. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Good stuff!
If finally got to use these and really like them. I used these in 33 degree (F) weather for my commute to work and my hands were fine. I used them on the way home in about 45 degree weather and they were too warm for me. My hands aren't usually really cold, though. I think this will be great for me in 30-40F weather. I used them on both my road bike and mountain bike and they work great on both - no problems shifting or braking. They also give enough dexterity to turn on/off my lights and run the controls on my bike computer.

These gloves rock!
Awesome gloves. Super warm, comfy, wind and water proof and great fit.A great replacement for my previous pair of Pearl Izumi lobster gloves I got in the late 90s.

Great value
Excellent product for those cold rides. Lobster design is very functional, yet keeps some fingers together for warmth. Well built, excellent value and give it a thumbs up.

very comfortable
Very comfortable lobster mitts - I normally wear a medium, purchased large and have nice mobility - able to put in a thin liner or hand warmer. On their own rated for -10C - I wore them in -28C underneath handle bar covers and had hand warmers - toasty warm. The next day - same temp at -28 - skipped the hand warmer, finger tips a little cool.

Warm on wet and windy days.
Bought these gloves for cycling on cool wet days on Vancouver Island.Found the digits were unhappy with my other lightweight gloves on cooler 30kms + rides. 30 minutes in and numb fingers. These lobster gloves have been great! They have kept out the wet and wind and kept in the warmth. They have enough dexterity to shift and brake without issue.I have worn these gloves while riding at around 2C with wind and rain as well as trail walking with the dog for an hour or two at -8c. Super comfy at those temperatures. The gloves seem to be well made and hopefully should stand up well to regular use.The reason for four rather than five stars is that I am only a month or so in with these gloves. However, at this point confidence is high that they will be the solution to wet and cool West Coast riding. Now I just need to deal with my cold toes.

Very warm!
Super warm! Used for fat biking in as low as -15*C and my hands were toasty warm. Takes a little getting used to but a great glove for cold and snowy rides.
