RoyceLeather Men's RFID Blocking Bifold Wallet in Leather with Double Id Display, Black, One Size

I needed a replacement for my trusty 2-fold wallet—funny how, at least for a man who carries his wallet in a back pocket, one's wallet becomes an intimate extension of one's self—and I figured since I already have one cc with a built in chip the rest will follow soon. I'm not the sort that wears tinfoil helmets to keep out the waves, but I figured if I can get a functional wallet that also has the RFID blocking feature and does the job my trusty old one did so well, why not?I have now been using the new Royce wallet for about 6 weeks and it's slowly ingratiating itself into my pocket. It's of course stiff at first but is softening up a little bit already. It has exactly the features that I have had in my last 2 wallets (each lived about a decade I think). The wallet also arrives in a traditional well-made form fitting cardboard box, the kind one receives with wallets purchased in dept stores—can be repurposed for jewelry etc.I was torn between 4 and 5 stars but I'm a big fan of softened leather and this one will take quite awhile to soften up as much as I like. But from what I can see this is well designed and well made.

I had no idea that it could be so hard to choose a wallet. There are so many choices. I really liked the price, I though that between $40 and $50 would be a good price for something that was not too cheap and not too expensive. I was impressed that I could get an RFID blocking wallet for that price. I like knowing that someone walking by me cannot steal my credit card numbers or ofhter peronally idenifiable information from the cards in my wallet. The wallet has enought room for all my cards, heck I might be able to fit a few more in. I took the plastic insert out as I was able to fit all my stuff in the leather credit card pockets.The only thing I wish this wallet had was a hidden pocket. I like to stash a little cash out of sight for emergencies. I would recomend this wallet to anyone looking. It is very simple looking, with some nice features. The ID flap is nice to have. It has two sides so you can have two IDs, or I was thinking that when I go to Costco, I could put my card on one side of the ID holder to show at the door.

Ordered on a Monday, product arrived on Wednesday so it was good/fast shipping. The box it came in was elegant. The leather is thin compared to my JCP purchased Dockers branded wallet. You can tell there is some type of foil inside the shell of the wallet. I'm actually a bit worried about how long this will last with the leather being so thin. My last wallet lasted me 10 years, and is in good shape still, I wanted the RFID block. There is plenty of room for individual cards and some nice pockets behind the cards for those spare things I end up carrying around. I transferred all the stuff from old to new and went to work where we use RFID readers to get in the building. I went up to the reader and pulled the wallet out and swiped it by the reader and surprisingly the reader picked up the car inside the wallet and let me in. I tried moving my cards around and using different badge readers, no dice, the readers were still able to pick up the RFID. So, overall, would I buy again? Probably not. I will likely be going back to my old wallet where at least the leather won't feel flimsy.

Beautiful wallet with high quality leather workmanship. I would buy this just for the look and feel of it, regardless of the RFID shielding. There are two areas for cash, and it's a little wider than wallets that only fit American or Canadian money, so this is perfect for traveling abroad where Euros, Pounds and Swiss Francs are a little wider and don't usually fit in a regular "American" size wallet. This slightly wider size was not a problem for me - I carry my wallet in my front pocket, but might be a minor issue for people who like the smallest wallet possible. I also like the slot where you can put your drivers license. Easy to get out if you need to, but stays in securely.I tested the RFID blocking (just once) with a hotel key that was in the wallet - worked great and would not open the door even when the wallet was placed directly on the room lock RFID reader.I would definitely recommend this wallet.

The RF blocking feature did not work; I had it in my pocket, put my hip up to the reader and it operated like the wallet was not even there! As an RFID blocker I give it zero stars, as a wallet, five. I think it is the nicest wallet as well as handiest I have ever owned. The features are as described except for the RF thingy. I bought a wallet a few years ago that had two window ID slots and both of them were too small for my Texas drivers license to fit in, making it useless to me. The two slots in the Royce were both big enough for my retired US Navy ID card which is larger than a state drivers license or concealed carry permit. Amended July 5, 2015. I was not sure of the frequency blocking range. The manufacturer assured me that it works fine for the type of chip in credit and debit cards as they operate on a different frequency than entrance and alarm RF devices. I have no reason to doubt him so I am giving it five stars.

I would have given this a 5 star if the dimensions were as described correctly. It is supposed to be 4" wide but it is actually 3 11/16" wide. The leather quality and seam integrity are excellent. There are eight pockets for credit cards/gift cards. The credit cards fit with enough room to easily remove them. But the pockets are too narrow for gift cards. I cut about 1/8" off the edge of each gift card so they would fit. It is also easy to remove/insert a driver's license/ID in the sleeve with the window. Even with the disparity in dimensions I would give this wallet a 4.5 and recommend it for others.
