Exo Terra Tiki Water Dish

I bought this water dish thinking that because it's from an exotic pet supplies company it would be fit for purpose. However, after a day or so of having fresh, clean water in a clean dish, it develops a dirty, scummy film on the surface of the water. It seems like there is some kind of chemical possibly from the paint finish or sealer on the dish. After mentioning this to the exotics community I'm in, I'm not the only one who's had this issue. Sticking to ceramic from now on - no idea what this plastic dish could be leaching into the water to make it go like that and I don't trust it for my sensitive tarantulas.

These dishes are really brilliant. I use them to hold food and bug balls for my colony of dubia roaches. Even the babies can climb in. The dishes are really sturdy and easy to clean. They look really nice as well. They'd be ideal for feeding dishes for smaller reptiles. I have a bearded dragon but it's probably too small to hold his salad and bugs can climb out so not really suitable for that. I've bought 6 so far and would definitely recommend. They aren't expensive for what they are - really good quality.

Mine has leaked all in my geckos viv making her glass all steam up and her sand being wet to the point it takes 3-4 days to dry out. i was hoping to get her a good water dish as the price isn't too bad but sadly it has made her viv all wet inside. will not be ordering this item again.

This was supposed to be 9x10cm. Turns out to be 7x8cm so be careful if you need a bigger size.Apart from the size being a lot different than advertised I can't comment about anything else yet as I haven't used it so fingers crossed it will be big enough for what I need :(

It's a rather small water dish. Drowning spot of many unfortunate fruit flies.It looks good and is solid in construction. Very easy to clean. My red eye tree frog likes to chill out on the rim at night time.
