10 Minutes Flat to Networked Video. Simply Superb.
Simply superb. Really, I mean it.If you take the trouble to look at my other reviews you will note that I bought a Sannce PoE camera system a few days before this one and sent it back two days later. I did so because the main function I wanted was to be able to view the camera stream over my network and no matter what I tried I simply could not get it to work. The instructions were contradictory and the setup simply arcane. And today there is no excuse for that.So I then bought this on the back of a few good reviews and put simply it could not be more different. When I opened the box the instructions simply were two pages of paper, one stating that the UK - Manchester based supplier would be very happy to respond to any questions - which they are and in English and another showing how to plug this in with a couple of QR scans to set it up.Really.I immediately thought I would yet again be faced with vast amounts of internet trawling for information and once again finding myself so frustrated that I would throw it out of the window, but no a bit of it. This worked exactly as the instructions said, with easy to use software and zero IT knowledge required. On my bench which I was using to set it up I literally had all four cameras streaming across my network and available on line in less than ten minutes from opening the box. In fact I was both so delighted and so impressed I emailed the company to thank them for a painless installation and being an example of how to do something complicated in an easy way that works. In terms of quality this is on a par with similar other items. Picture is fine, cameras are neat and small and all the cables are long enough to be useful. And for a couple of hundred quid your NVR even comes with a 1TB hard drive.I do not think that for the money you can get a better designed and easier to use PoE networked CCTV.

Highly recommended unit for DIY home video surveillance
I bought this product in May, and installed it myself for surveillance in my garden office and around my property.InstallationThe installation process itself was straight forward, with the PoE being a major plus as one single cable is needed to connect each of the four cameras. I used the supplied cables for the three cameras installed around my house, and a different cable some 40 metres long to connect the main unit to the camera in the garden office. My advice before installing the unit (if you do it yourself) is to plan ahead the angles you want covered. The cameras are quite versatile, and the brakets allow for quite a bit of rotation, but make sure the field of view is not obstructed before drilling any holes. I used some standard all-weather electrical connection boxes to connect the camera to the cable leading to the main unit.Main unitMake sure you install the hard disk somewhere out of sight, as this is where all the images are stored. Airing cupboard or loft possibly? Also, if you are planning to use the remote viewing capabilities of the unit, this will have to be connected directly to the home router via a cable (not WiFi). I have done this and can access my unit remotely to view live feeds or even (although much slower) to view the recorded images on the hard disk.Experience of usageSo far, so good. Four months down the line, and the images are still of impressive quality, including the infrared night vision (with one exception, see below). The hard disk recording and movement detection proved reliable when I needed to check some footage from a few days back. One minor issue: one of the cameras developed a fault (infrared stopped working), but the seller seems very responsive and offered to replace it free of charge.Overall verdictExcellent unit for the price, need a reasonably tecchie-minded person to set it up, but by no means an expert. A fraction of the price of a unit installed professionally, with similar or better end result. I only wished I purchased the unit with 8 cameras, to get proper coverage.

Avoid - company crippled the system with updates and killed all the features you bought it for!
In the box:1) NVR box with 1TB installed (note is only has VGA output)4) 720p HD bullet style cameras4) mounting brackets for cameras4) Ethernet cables1) PSU1) Instructions pamphletsWhen you get a product that has a few pamphlets for its setup you worry that its not a well thought out package or a its really something very simple to use. I am an IT expert (Network Administrator) so some things will come easily to me, but i have to say i think any one who is a bit tech-savvy will have no problems getting this setup. It was literally a matter of plugging everything together and going from there.I wont go into the setup specifics, but suffice it to the instructions do actually tell you all that you need to know. Mine was up and running for a quick out the box to check nothing was damaged in transit all within 20 minutes! What i like:* Ease of setup - i asked my friend to have a go with the instructions and she managed fine. All plugged into a BT HomeHub 5 router.* MeShare website - this allows you to view your cameras from any PC, so i could check out the live stream from work or my friends house* ZSight app - relatively easy to use app, the account you make for this is the same account you use to log into the meshare website!* Zsight PC software - again, a doddle to setup, my home network isnt the same neat and tidy thing i have at work, yet t found the box and cameras with ease and i was up and running within seconds of clicking that "finish install" button! What i dislike:* VGA out - not really a major issue, all my monitors have VGA, but i would have expected HDMI. To be fair, once your setup you'll have all the access you need from the PC app, the mobile app and the meshare website.* ZSight app - seems a little flaky over a 3G/4G connection, but flawless when my phone is connected to WiFi, which leads me to believe my 3G/4G signal is probably at fault here. The dislikes are more niggles and shouldn't detract from how easy to use this product is. The quality is great, the interface is easy to use and the support/help have been prompt and courteous (only used them because i didnt read all the information)Edit: the company who made this originally, zmodo released updates under the guise of making it more secure for end users. I'm left with a system that barely functions like when I bought it, forced into upgrading to their subscription service, forced changes without even notifying the end users.Avoid any sPOE product period!
