The silicone is easy to clean. And well defined areas on the mat, makes it easier to keep track of all of the knife parts to reassemble after maintenance and cleaning. Being flat makes it easier to store, and is easy to roll up if necessary.I would recommend the purchase of this item.

This came very well packed in multiple bags. The silicone is soft and slightly grippy, and it's not sticky or oily in any way. It's not an especially thick mat, but at first I thought it was thick enough to do the job. The multiple compartments for parts are very convenient, and I'm very pleased with the way small parts don't easily slide around on the mat. If you were tying to measure the capacitance of a really tiny smd cap for instance (do you see that cap between the probes in my picture?), you know how difficult it is to get them sandwiched between probes without them jumping around. This mat helps with that. It also holds small boards in place for testing and soldering. The problem arose when I tried desoldering with a good hot air station set to 350c and 50% air. The silicone mat bubbled from the heat. I tried to show this in a picture. The bubble does flatten and go away when the mat cools, but if you are relying on a steady workspace this would be a problem. This mat is going to make future electronics work a lot easier for me, but for some hot air work I'm going to need something else. I'm not sure if a thicker mat is needed, or just a different mat, but lots of people use hot air on silicone mats without this problem.

This mat was a great addition to my workbench. The silicone texture is non-slip and protects both the surface of my workbench as well as whatever I'm working on. The little dividers are a nice touch to safely store and organize small fasteners for easy disassembly and reassembly. It also keeps my tools from rolling off of the bench. It's also very easy to clean under a sink with soap and water. Great product!
