Reliable level of toasting
The pics you choose to set darkness are pretty accurate. The only complaint I have,is that it's too quiet. When it's done it gives off this gentle tone you can't hear in the next room. No way to adjust the volume

This toaster is worth the $$
This toaster is da bomb!! It’s FAST… doesn’t always toast our bread on the first round (probably because it’s either frozen or refrigerated), but it works like a charm. It’s very quiet and efficient… oh… and beautiful!

My friends weren't exaggerating
I'm not tech savvy. AT ALL. But friends could not stop talking about this toaster, and my toaster is actually over 20 yrs old and on the fritz. So I had been looking at new ones forever. However, even the highly rated ones still had a fair amount of bad reviews because of uneven toasting, which is the only thing that matters to me. So when this was offered, I ordered it, even though a smart appliance is the last thing I need.I put off testing it forever because I thought I would have to install an app and figure all that stuff out, then learn how to use it, etc, etc. That was dumb. It took less than 5 minutes to read the instructions and get to the part where I was putting toast in it. There is no app. It connects to wi-fi (only if you want to) and the wifi connection gives you the time, the weather ( I don't care about either of those) and it will send software updates through wifi. So I haven't bothered to connect mine. Maybe I will at some point to check for updates, but the less tech I have to deal with, the better. The instructions are clear. It is crazy easy to use, even for someone tech ignorant like me. It makes the most perfect toast I have ever seen. The pictures on the screen will even change based on the level of darkness you choose. The instruction book says there is a 1 year warranty, however, when I registered it, it says it is good for 2 years. There are only 3 negative things that I have found. 1. The chrome part of the frame is plastic. Yep. Plastic. For the price of the toaster, it should be metal. 2. You're pretty limited on the size of bread, which seems crazy to me. It BARELY holds one of the common rectangular shaped breads like Orowheat. Forget about your homemade bread, unless you make your loaves small or use a special pan. The worst part is that small square shaped bread is the only one that will fit in the toasty press. 3. There's only 2 slots. Fine for me, I'm an empty nester now, but I would think I'm the minority demographic that would order this toaster. The smaller toast size is crazy, though. Most of the breads in my grocery store are larger sizes. I only happened to have small square bread on hand when I finally tested it for the first time.I think overall, it's well worth the cost if you care about the quality of your toast. My toaster is very old and made back when things were at least a little better quality, but it seems like nowadays you spend $50 for a cheap toaster and then need to replace it sooner rather than later, plus your toast quality is mediocre. Unless this doesn't last long, it's worth every cent.I'm reviewing the Revolution R180 Connect Smart Toaster + Toastie Press Bundle – Touchscreen, 2-Slice Wide Slot, InstaGLO Tech – Toast Bread, Bagels, Waffles, Muffins, Tortillas, Pastries – Stainless Steel (Stainless Steel, R180 Connect Bundle)
