I have read some books of this Chilean writer. Some I like and some I do not, so she is not one of my preferred writers but this book was given to me as a birthday present and it was a real surprise. I not only liked it very much, I could not stop reading it. I read at night because it is the only time I have where I can be with myself and I was looking forward to that moment every day.I liked it very much and have recommended it to many of my friends. The characters are wonderfully described as well as the Chilean society one of the most conservative societies even today, and I have learnt many things of their history I did not know anything about which is always appreciated. Congratulations to the writer and hope many more people have the chance to read it and share comments which I believe help others to choose.

Me encanto este libro, como todos los libros de Isabel Allende, ya he leido 9 libros de Ella, y este en cierta forma es como una secuencia de La Hija de La Fortuna, me gusta mucho la forma tan picara como escribe, los personajes, la forma como describe a cada uno de sus personajes. El drama a traves del libro, como toca la historia de su Pais, los hechos de Guerras y sus personajes, la manera tan interesante como en cada pagina lo atrapa a uno, su lectura y no podes dejar de leer hasta que termines. Es definitivamente mi escritora favorita, me encanta y me apasionan sus libros. Flor Marina Lizano U.

Pienso que el material de la portada puede ser mejor, para que se protega un poco mas su interior. Pero la portada es tal cual como en la foto y el grosor está de acuerdo a lo descrito.

A very cleaver way to put together several novels. Very entertaining with a lot of historical facts.

Apasionante historia.
Me encantó la historia de Aurora, los lugares, etapas y costumbres que forman parte de su vida. No cabe duda que Isabel Allende sabe atrapar la atención de sus lectores en cada una de sus obras literarias.

A great book, one of her best.
One of my favorite Isabel Allende books. It's the sequel to Hija de La Fortuna, which is also excellent. Good historical fiction about California and Chile.

Es buena pero no era lo q pensaba....
Es una buena novela, pero no era lo q pensaba... Yo me enamore completamente de joaquin andieta y el no aparece!! No se sabe q paso con el. Definitivamente Esta novela perdio el encanto cuando ella se quedo con Tao Chien. El enamoramiento de ellos fue repentino y se puede apreciar en la primera parte tambien
