Sharp and high quality.
What a great product. Fidget factor is very high. The flipper tab works great, the button lock was smooth and easy to manipulate right out of the box. No blade play in any direction, solid lockup, razor sharp. Again, very very sharp from the factory. The fit and finish is fantastic. The aluminum scales have very smooth machined edges and it fits in my hand like a glove and feels very precise even for its size. The scales feel every bit as good as my 940 Osborne and actually to me a little better. It dissapears in my pocket and feels great in use. The black on black looks very good, like something John Wick would carry, very serious looking. For the price, I just dont know how you can get any better. This is my first Sencut and man what a way to introduce yourself. I will be buying more Sencut knives for certain. The quality, fit and finish are outstanding. I love this knife.

Functionality is great with some minor design flaws
Beautiful knife. Great fidget knife with quick opening and button lock. The blade is thin and very spicy. A couple minor issues, but I'm not deducting stars. The coating is easily scratched. If you want the knife as a showpiece, then treat it as such. I plan on using the knife, so it's a very minor point to me. The other issue is the pocket clip. Sencut and Civivi knives often have this issue. It turns up near the point which creates a hot spot. I ordered a titanium clip for a Civivi knife, and it solved the problem. Hopefully they will listen to the complaints and redesign the clip. So overall this is probably a 4.5 knife but it functions so well, I would gladly buy it again. I was aware that the clip might be an issue, so I am very satisfied.

Very impressed with my first Sencut
I had been eyeballing the Civivi Conspirator since I saw it in a Shot Show video a month before it was released. As soon as it was available I saw that Sencut (another company in the WE Knives/Civivi family) released 2 other knives that were very similar to the Conspirator the Mims and the Sache. Both had very similar features and were nearly half the cost. While I am trying to decide which of those I should get, they released this Serene and that is the one I finally chose. and this is why...1. I think WE and Civivi make the best and most affordable button locks on the market and their Sencut button locks are just as good. Great lock up and perfect detent. If you deploy the knife using the thumb studs the blade rockets out and the button lock works great. I have even had no issues deploying using a reverse flick using the thumb studs. With some button locks you get a little bounce in the blade on the drop shut if you don't time it right, since this knife has a long blade the weight closes on the detent perfect every time.2. The brilliant color of the aluminum anodizing is very cool. I got the blue and it is very vivid. it has a very nice satin finish but it's not so smooth It's slippery. It's similar to the finish on an Ultratech OTF.3. It is much slimmer and lightweight compared to the other knives I was comparing it to. it is very thin but the handle is large enough to still be comfortable in hand. even the flipper tab is low profile considering the size of the blade but it still flips with authority. The other knives i mentioned are either G10 or Micarta which have a thicker profile. I rarely carry a knife this big anymore since I took an office job and am no longer in the field, so the fact that this is a big knife that carries like a smaller lighter knife is a big plus for me.4.Blade geometry. The blade has a drop point style that reminds me of a Shirogorov with the full flat grind and distal taper of a Spyderco. The blade stock is fairly thin as well so it's a sharp and slicey blade that cuts through material with nearly zero drag.So for the first introduction to the Sencut Brand I am extremely happy with it. I love WE and Civivi, especially Civivi who in my opinion has been releasing the best quality budget blades in the last few years and I am always amazed what you can get from Civivi for such a low price. Sencut is definitely a chip off that block and I am interested in exploring more of their products in the future.

Best budget button lock
The media could not be loaded. For the price, this has got to be one of the best button lock folders out there. I stopped collecting folding knives years ago but recently decided to try out some button lock folders mainly for the fidget factor and I wanted a new beater knife for work which is mostly cutting open cardboard boxes and breaking them down.Yes, it isn’t going to boast premium materials like WE Knives but the quality is there. I went with the all black model since I knew I would be putting fingerprints all over the blade from the constant fidgeting if I went with a satin blade.Pros: I like the full size and how lightweight it feels. The slim design carries great in the pocket. Comfortable to use and the blade shape makes cutting tasks easy. The overall look of the knife is sleek and the finish on the aluminum handles feels nice. The deployment is excellent no matter which way you deploy it. Fires hard and makes cool sounds. I like having a knife that can deploy at least 2 different ways and this one can do at least 3 so it’s very fidget friendly. Flipper tab and thumb studs are easy to get to. The button lock is the best I’ve felt compared to the other popular budget brands. No stick and absolutely smooth and quiet when pressed. And I didn’t even have to oil it out of box.Cons: Mostly minor nitpicks but I’m not sure why the blade finish is listed as “black stone wash”. It’s more of a black coating or painted black that can look rather cheap. But pics and videos will show that so it wasn’t much of a surprise. The edge didn’t come as razor sharp as I would have expected but it slices paper and tape just fine. The finish wears out after about a week or cutting boxes and tape but that’s to be expected. The edge has been holding decently well. The handles feel a little too slick. If you don’t have a proper grip, this knife can easily slip. Or if you aren’t wise with where you set it down, it can easily slide off an uneven surface. Not a fan of these spring pocket clips but that’s easily remedied with a Civivi titanium clip.Overall, this is a great knife for someone getting their first knife or even for someone who collects high end folders. A newbie will see how cool it is without breaking the bank and veteran can appreciate the quality for a budget blade. But if you just need to fidget with knives, this is one of the best ones at such an affordable price.
